And so, I now consider myself to be a firsthand expert on all things pregnancy related. Nevertheless, I am still amazed at the general public’s reaction to a pregnant woman. First of all, they provide very little in the way of encouragement. There’s something about seeing a woman in her third trimester, on the brink of birthing that baby that makes you want to relive your labor and delivery horror stories. We have all witnessed this phenomenon at baby showers. It’s like a contest between the existing mothers to see whose labor pains were the worst, whose labor was the longest, whose epidural caused the most problems, and who ended up with the worst hemorrhoids! Meanwhile, the poor mother-to-be listens on in horror, knowing that her own personal terrors are looming ahead in the not so distant future.
Not for long though…As I stopped into a ladies wear store and was looking around at the new arrivals….the little bundle of joy decides to wake up…starts putting his hands in his mouth and decides he’s hungry!I just fed him before I left home…less then an hour ago…
I already know you have a dozen shots with your baby wearing huge sunglasses, daddy’s baseball hat, mommy’s jewelry, or a Halloween mask. Photos with props truly are cute, but they are not always suitable for baby photo contests. Props that hide your baby’s face make it hard for judges to see the true beauty of your baby. The key is to enhance, not hide their cute faces. For instance, wearing daddy’s hat is OK as long as its to the side or back where we can see the baby’s face. Halloween costumes with face covering masks or that require facial makeup, is not helping your toddler win.
